The Big Bang

I found it, what they've been searching for,
The proof of the Big Bang,
In my hands lies this discovery
And I can't wait to throw it away.

What happened?
Why couldn't I just stay in one place?
Appreciating that the world stays the same;
But of course it doesn't.

It was just our family, it was my world
And then we played some Wife Swap
It became a permanent fixation,
And the world grew as my eyes opened.

The child that was once me
Saw the gruesome face of life
And the universe expanded
With the smear of red on a bread knife

Aeroplane over the deep blue sea
It brought upon a paradigm shift
No it wasnt just us here in Milwaukee
For I learnt about The Rest Of The World.

Growing, fighting, loving
And the planets start to lean away
When once we were talking
Now we're strangers, day by day

Oh then that feeling, like loving,
With you standing so close to me
I could whisper in silence
You would hear it, as if I were screaming

With the stretch of my fingers
I can brush through your hair
But we're standing on two planets
And they're both moving away

Watching as the distance elongates,
As the asteroid belts come in place
As we reach two suns at the Universe's polar ends
It's true, the Universe expands every day.

Now you see,
The scientific proof laid out in front of you
What was once a theory
I've shown you that it is true.

The Big Bang is real, I see it everyday
We move so far away;
And I hope they're right about that Big Crunch
Because I hope to hold you again.

S I X T E E N

Buzzing with the happiness of
Being so special for one day
When everything falls into place
And fun just won't go away
I can know the world cares about me
In the most peculiar way
And the song of the wind seems to
Mutter my name on Saturday

And the clouds seem
To keep themselves at bay
To shine light upon the truth
That seems to have slipped my notice anyway;
Divine intervention,
In some way
Has come to grant me
My happy birthday.

Senseless Tunes

Too to doo do doo do doo
I feel like flying in the sky with you,
And pretend we're aeroplanes;
Oh dum dee dum dee dum
Let's go underwater and hum
The songs that I want to sing to you.

Let's jump over the moon,
Lie still in water like a spoon,
Or lets roll in the hilly grass
Lay on our backs and watch birds pass,
Oh let's dance in the night
With our spirits taking flight,
I want to swim through the air,
Run my fingers through your hair!

Because maybe now
I should confess
Whenever we talk,
My heart just starts beating a bit too fast!
I like the way it feels,
The way my head reels,
Even hours after you've gone.
Oh oh,
You know, you know,
I'd love to to just embrace you
Until its perfectly true
That I've expressed way too much to you =)

Leaves aren't leaves
If not propped up by branches
And when those branches fall apart,
They come flying to the ground
Trailing in circles,
Drifting with the wind
Always looking, looking, looking...

Like I look.

I look for that happiness
I used to see on your faces
Whenever I'd smile to make you smile.
I look for that relief that was evident
When I'd be with you for a while
When we'd make memories out of nothing;
But the branches have all fallen apart
I'm just drifting in air,
Being carried somewhere, oh I don't know where-
Just drifting, looking,
To see if anyone still cares as strongly as they did.

Maybe I'm just like bread
That depreciates with age
No one cares about it
Past its expiration date.
What if my best-until date
Has gone by
What if the branches have snapped
What if I'm broken and zapped
Just floating in the air
That whips aroudn your hair.

Do they treasure me
Like I treasure them?
No,
I don't seem to know.

Wish

Sometimes I wish
That I could just fall into your arms,
Wide open, forever,
I wish I could just surrender.
I wish what we say to each other
Was our reality
And that the intimacy
Lasted forever.

I wish that the hugs we share
Would quench my longing for you
But circumstances aren't that fair-
Every look between us
Illicits a cartwheel in my heart
And at times, it's hard to differentiate
Between the love I feel for you
And the love I feel for how we are.

And I wish
I could stop wishing for all this;
When you repaint Mona Lisa
It's just not the same, now, is it?
Let's just freeze these moments right here
And hope that it nothing changes this happiness
Between us, this sense of harmony
Because anything more
Would just be unnatural.
I wish for this wish
To be lost in the sea of hopes and dreams
That, if they came true,
Would change us 'til we're bursting at the seams.

100th Post, Happy Birthday SM!

This is my 100th post on this beloved blog that has helped prop me up and go through a lot. It's a bloodbank of memories and pains and moments that are meant to be etched in my head forever!

I wrote a poem for a close friend of mine, who's birthday was on the 7th, initials: SM

I wrote this for you :)
(on your card!)

You’ve got me wishing we had
More time by our side
Because being your friend
Is like a rollercoaster ride:
Everytime I go down and I’m alone
You enter the picture
And the world goes up once more.
Our banter makes me smile
For hours and for miles,
You’re my penny on a sidewalk,
The castle at the end of my beanstalk;
Not a single bad moment with you
I both hate and love you;
And ‘cause you deserve the best on your way,
I hope you have a Happy Birthday <3

The Only Glue Is A Miracle

In the morning, I open my eyes
And the one I think about first is you;
From when the sun rises to when it sets,
I'm fully conscious, but only with you;
Though there's an artwork of emotion,
Only one person remains in my heart, and it is you.
You're the one who dominates my thoughts,
You're the only one I search in the crowd for,
You're the one who's words mean the most,
You're  the one who's compliments leave me sore;
And it's fun to be angry at you
Because I hate your kingdom in my chest-
I hate that you rule my consciousness,
Hate that you are only tolerable, at best,-
It's ironic how though you are interlaced in my thoughts
Though you are ever-present in my emotional sine-curve
You're the only reason I weep to myself,
The only reason I feel that a real friend is what I do deserve.
Just glancing your way makes a pain shoot through my arms
And makes it impossible to contain the heavy tears,
It becomes hard to control that massive dam of angst
That has grown more burdensome, come the years.
The weight of the beauty you destroyed
Left to carry on my own weary shoulders-
You may have replaced a good ideal with another,
But the crumbs are for me to pick up, my troublesome boulders-
It's so easy for you to say
'If only we had more time'
But time won't wait for you,
You need to make the existing sublime.
Though you are a daily visitor in my heart,
You are the only reason I frown,
You are the only reason I cry,
You are the only reason I fall down.

And now you've lost me to the world
And I hope the loss hits you deep.
Now the only reason you dominate my soul
Is because my love for you is asleep
And like it is with death,
Only magic can bring it to life,
And you're noone special
I know you cannot fix this strife.

Angels On Earth

She's that silent serendipity
That friend I never found
She's that coin of gold lost in the sand
Of the desert the mirages surround
That hope in the chasm of dark,
That pole star in the skies stark,
The subtle curve in the body of an arch,
The scent of grass in an evergreen park,
She's in my heart, if not in my sight,
Brilliance as blinding as white light,
Beauty as prominent as red is on white,
An aura as golden as the sun would be at night.

Clever fingers to beckon at your thoughts,
Words that let fall your hurdles
An air of power that softly sighs
While the strength of her decision curdles

She knows what to say when the others prefer the silence,
Some conditioner, and she untangles the labyrinth of your thoughts
It's not hard to see, to sense, to feel
That she is a work of art that a Renaissance artist carefully wroughts

Near or far, on ground or not,
She could make an angel fall
Because it's today, at 12, that I know what she means
To those around her, in a world this small,
It's with this midnight chiming that one would realize
The gift that stands amongst us, serenely beautiful and proudly tall

Stranded

With fascinating you watch as
The slime slips from a child's finger
The joy it brings him on his quest
To hold a toy that would never linger;
His meek attempts to hold on to it
Remind you of your heart's efforts
To forget the love of a friend you cherish
Who walked away with a silence to ascert.

Oh, you recognize that hollow pain
That fills up the cavity in your chest,
And you seem to know the darkness that
Has set up in your head a comfortable nest-
Aware of all that leaves you
With every passing second of the day
Failing attempts at smiling and positivity
Be it as it may.

It's like a chasm of water
And you're sucked under the surface
The water overwhelms your lungs
And you feel yourself slowing that pace,
That easy breathing smothers,
And that happiness you felt is gone
For the ones you could once count on
Have left you to walk alone, on and on.

Nothing Authentic

Looking into the mirror
Scanning that expression,
A character from a movie:
With the eyes of another,
The lips of another,
The skin of another.
Replicated smile
And a plagiarized laugh
A soul molded by scores of people.
And nothing seems to be authentic.
There is no real beauty on that face,
There is nothing unique
It seems too plain to be real!
The expressions change from bright to bleak;
There is nothing authentic.
Just tesellated repetitions.

And though it brings much sorrow,
And though it perforates esteem,
That tear of disappointment
That cascades down the blotched cheek-
It shines
With the light of authentic thought
And that's all there is.
There is simply authentic thought,
And authentic love,
None of which reflects on the surface.

The surface of the sea
Is all that people see
Only a diver, one of heart
Dares to explore beneath
And in a rusted clam,
In the depths of a coral labyrinth
Does the magnificent pearl lie
Does the understanting lie.
